• Synerkines retain the ability to activate the individual cytokine receptors by heterodimerizing the receptor chains

• In contrast to individual cytokines, Synerkines mediate clustering of receptor complexes normally not interacting in this proximity

• This clustering induces unique gene transcription and a fundamentally different, increased response than the one achieved after co-application of the two individual cytokines
